i am looking for william english who seems to have disappeared after1892 when his wife margaret ann paxton died,i have searched a few census records for him,but how would i know if its my william,margaret was living with her daughter at west horton and is buried at chatton,i have margarets death certificate and it lists her as wife of william english,so he couldnt have died or it would have said widow of,after margaret died their daughter went to live with margarets parents,but no sign of william,he was listed on their marriage certificate as being a farmer,so i am presuming he travelled around the local farms,any help would be appreciated,william is my husbands family,si searching on his behalf

You haven't given any details of his birthyear or birthplace or his 1891 occupation?

If Margaret was living with her daughter  - was this in 1891?  If so - was William with her or is she shown as married/widowed?

Have you checked the 1891 census for William - where was he living at that time

margaret was living at cannes mill west newton in 1891,william wasnt with her then or when she died,i presumed that he must have been working away,she was living with her parents,her niece and her daughter,it was her niece that was the informant of her death.Margaret and william were married december 1885,she was 21 he was 39.William was born 1846 grt tosson,{rothbury}he was a farmer,there is a william english on the 1891 census at south charlton listed as a farmer,i cant make out the family he is living with but it looks like rennik or bennet

Re: 1891 entry - what is his marital status as Margaret was still alive then.  Have you looked on the 1901 for that person?

Where did you get his birthplace from?

When was their daughter born?

in 1891 william was listed as married,we know where he was born because we have followed his line back from his parents,their daughter bidgette ann was born august 1889 at kilham
