Gefnffordd and Pwllrynwyd abodes in Llanybydder or surrounding parishes
« on: Sunday 03 February 13 11:37 GMT (UK) »
Hi

I am wondering if these names are familiar to anyone. They are given on the marriage of Morgan Morgans to Sarah Evans in 1816 at Llanybydder.

Witnesses to the marriage,
Thomas Evans ........Gefnffordd
John James............  Pwllrynwyd

Try phoning Morgan & Davies Estate agents, Lampeter and ask for Mr Morgan.  He was very helpful when I asked about Lampeter and environs addresses.  One he knew the answer to and for the other query he put me in touch with a man who knew! The second gentleman and his family went out of their way to help. Sandra

Thank you Sandra. The abode you found could well be one and the same and the estate agents in Lampeter sounds a good bet - I shall contact them.

the place names are on the marriage register, written by the witnesses. Looks more like Pwllrynvyd to me though.

I dont think its a problem but it seems to me that Gefnffordd  is more likely to Cefnffordd.
(Top of the road).

Penrynwyd spelling seems more likely  cannot find any reference to Penrynvyd.
