How are you doing with 1881? Looks like Thomas has remarried by then - maybe Caroline died. A look on FreeBMD will help find out

im very greatful, i cant find a death for carole hankinson in 1881 when she was 46, was divorce legal in those days??

Well - it is there!

But if you were looking for Carole Hankinson in 1881 age 46, as you have said above, you will not have got a match.

She was Caroline. We know she died between 1871 and 1881. And Hankinson is a name prone to mistranscription.

Therefore, by enterring Caroline Hank*son, and a death 1876 =/- 5 years, I easliy found her - and it is under Hankinson, so no excuses! -

Oct/Nov/Dec 1873
London City ref 1c 14
Caroline Hankinson age 48

Why not take some time (as was advised on another of your threads I believe) having a practice on FreeBMD, so you can find things easier?
