did the father henry have any siblings?

You could look at the 1881 census yourself for him, it is free to view on familysearch  ;D

It will if you find him at home with his parents and siblings.

You are so lucky nowadays that all these censuses and free BMD indexes are online, when I started my family history 30 years ago,you had to order in films at the local LDS search rooms and wait about a month or so to see them.

Or go down to London to the Family Record Centre every six months or so  ;D ;D ;D

We are here to 'help' you find relatives not look for them for you on Free Indexes  :o

Try here https://familysearch.org/

It's far more satisfying to find them yourself.

That's why we all recommend the Free BMD website too http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/

Hi

I would suggest that you look at freebmd for a birth for Henry Joseph Hankinson.  If you look on familysearch there is also some information about him including the marriage that we found but it gives more information.

Re 1881 -Depends if he is living with any of them!

Again, you need to go one step at a time. Sometimes it takes years and years to research a family and move back a generation - this thread has only been going for half an hour or so and we have got you back several steps.

Try looking on Free BMD for Henry's birth,
try finding him on 1881

But of course, he may have been abroad with the Royal Artillery.

In the meantime I will have a look in earlier censuses to see if I can see him as a chil with his family.
But it might not be instant!

The family are on 1861

RG9 214 102 29

16 Pauls Alley, St Giles

Thomas W Hankinson 36 married Shoemaker bn Spitalfields
Caroline 39 wife shoe binder bn SHoreditch
Emma 10 dtr bn St Lukes
Mary Ann 8 bn St Lukes
Amelia A 5 bn Cripplegate
Henry Josh 2 bn St Lukes

so he had older sisters.
MAybe younger siblings - we'd need to find them in 1871 to see if there are any born after 1861
