Cole and Rice family of Kinsale
« on: Wednesday 06 February 13 23:09 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find my relative Kathleen M. Cole from Kinsale. I have a little bible inscribed "Present by Mrs. Eliza Rice to Miss K.M. Cole as a birthday gift Kinsale 11 Jan 1832". I think she was born in 1819 or so. There is a note at the bottom "Mrs. Rice died at Kinsale in July 1832". On the back of the same bible Kathleen has written her name and what looks like Lungsmore House (the more part is for sure but not the Lungs) Kinsale, Co. Cork, Ireland. Her father was supposed to be in the military but I can't be sure. I know that he died when she was young and she then lived with a family named Bowen or Bowler. I would appreciate any help that might point me to more information on Kathleen or Mrs. Rice. Thanks!

What denomination are these people? For Kinsale, I think it's only RC parish records you will find online. It might be an idea to post up an image of the name of the house in Kinsale to see if anyone can read it.

I am not sure what denomination the Cole's were. Her husband James Oldham was Anglican. I have added a scan of the inscription. Thanks.
