Shop called "MORRISROE's"
« on: Friday 08 February 13 03:21 GMT (UK) »
I am after information relating to a store called MORRISROE's in Roscommon. My grandad's family lived and owned the shop. I have a photo. However would like to try and find a more exact location, to see if it still stands today.

Many thanks
James

Hello James and welcome to Rootschat   :)

You don't give any indication of when your family owned the shop or if it was in Roscommon county or Roscommon town.

Have you looked at the Irish censuses of 1901 and 1911 - if that is around the right time?

For example, there is a Maria Morrisroe who is a shopkeeper in Ballaghaderreen in 1901. However, I can't see any shopkeepers in 1911.

If you post more information, we may be able to help.

regards
heywood
