Hi Sandra,

Was the family tree you referred to on ancestry?

I know Catherine Beechinor married William Dickers and had a son Joseph in 1855. William died in 1865 and in the 1870 census I have Patrick Carroll and Katie (Catherine?) Carroll with 5 children (ages 10 - 24) who must have been Patrick's by a previous marriage with a Joseph Dickers. So Catherine (Katie?) has re-married by 1870 and not 1874?

It's definitely them because I know from other sources that Angela O'Neil (nee Ames) is a first cousin to Joseph Dickers and that in 1916 an attorney acting on behalf of Angela O'Neil's son (my g-grandfather) goes to the home of Mrs Patrick Carroll at 248 E84th Street - an aunt of the son's mother and Catherine is Angela's aunt.

The Carrolls and Joseph Dickers lived in the East 82-84th Street.

Hi Sandra,

Found the tree on ancestry but something's wrong.

The 1900 census page might be my Catherine - at first glance the location is right (E82 St) but the rest of the details just don't seem to stack up  - age, year married and one thing stands out.

Quite simply I know my Catherine Carroll (snr) was still alive in 1916 so not dead in 1911.
