Attending school

On the 1871 census for Brithdir Hamlet ED6 residing in Brithdir Terrace, two wives, namely Margaret Jenkins and Ester Jones, both aged 42, are both described as ‘attending school’.  As anyone come across this before, would they be trying to educate themselves or is this an enumerator’s error?

I've checked the census for the 2 women and there is no mention of attending school on the actual census returns -  Margaret RG10/5388 folio 32 pg 5, wife of William and  Ester wife of William RG10/5388 folio 33 pg 7.

Transcription error possibly?
