Semple/Close family

Hello again,

Through information received from a kind fellow researcher have recently discovered that  my Agnes Hagan Close b 11 Aug 1899 at 47 Newcastle Street, Belfast Co. Down, daughter of Robert Henry Close and Annie Agnes, Boyd married a Robert John Semple, at Albertbridge Congregational Church 10 Jul 1920.   Have found they had at least 1 daughter, Alice Semple (*). Does anyone have any connections or information on this family??? Woud love to hear from you!

Hi Wendy. I was just having a look at somethings and came a cross this.

Belfast 1896

A, Hedley, 4 Newcastle St a Joiner.

Belfast 1900

R, Close, Blacksmith 51 Solway St.

Thats one street from Newcastle St, they are off the Newtownards Rd, East Belfast.

Could they be yours ?.

Good to hear from you...was beginning to get concerned...as I had'nt seen you post for a wee bit....!  The R. Close is mine....Robert Henry lived on Solway street, have his daughte Susannah born at 51 Solway st in 1897...not sure about the A. Hedley...will have to check my notes and see what I have .... Once again thank you soo much for thinking of me...your so kind....!

Have you heard of a publication called "the Rushlight"? was speaking to an older gent from Belfast and he was saying they focus on all the old streets and their residents? He is going to send me more information.

Thanks for the link...looks to be quite interesting!!!!  The fellow I spoke with is here in Canada "Jack Boyle"...he grew up in the Market street area...anyways, he has some of the magazines and is going to share them with me...so I'll get a quick peak anyway.....Take Care
