sullivans and desmonds of cork, seeking information please
« on: Sunday 17 February 13 08:33 GMT (UK) »
Hello, can anyone help with the following family?

I'm seeking information relating to Timothy Sullivan b 1834 Cork, a Catholic; father : Patrick Sullivan also of Cork.
Timothy married Hannah Desmond b 1835 Cork, dau. of Daniel Desmond.

That is all I have of their lives before emigrating.

The family moved from Ireland to Glamorgan Wales before the census in 1841. I'm seeking information or links to trace their lives and families in Cork.

This is the information I have about Timothy and Hannah. i include it as it may have family names.
Timothy and Hannah had these children all born in  Glamorgan Wales:
Patrick 1853; Bartholomew 1856; Mary Ann 1860; Timothy 1862; Ellen 1865; John 1867; Daniel 1869; Johanah 1871; James 1873.

Mary Ann is my ggg grandmother.
Thank you

As these births were before Civil Registration in 1864, do you have any idea of location i.e name of town/village etc in County Cork.

www.irishgenealogy.ie  has baptisms/marriages for Diocese of Cork & Ross
There is an entry for a Hanna Desmond baptism Cork South Parish RC 26th March 1843
with father Dan Desmond, Mother Mary Mahony

Thanks for the information. This certainly looks like the right family.
No, the only information on the census forms states cork, ireland.
I'll try to follow your link. Many thanks
