Mary Anne Ives b 1827 d. 1907
« on: Monday 18 February 13 10:00 GMT (UK) »
Would relly appreciate any help finding out about this person's parents / siblings.  I know she married Richard Stileman in 1846 in Marylebone.  She was born in Chobham, Surrey to Thomas and Jane Ives but can't find anything on their dates of birth or children.  She lived in Paddington and Wimbledon and died In Eastbourne, Sussex.

Many Thanks

It looks like Thomas & Jane only had two daughters.

SAINT LAWRENCE, CHOBHAM, SURREY
Father’s name Thomas Ives mother's name Jane (Fathers occupation – Surgeon)
Jane Fleetwood Ives baptism 10 Aug 1825
Mary Ann Ives baptism 26 Apr 1827

I think it is likely that the parents died before 1841.

Her father may have died circa 1831, (which may account for no other siblings,) as there is a will at the National Archives for Thomas Ives, Surgeon, of Chertsey.

It looks as though there was a line of surgeons in Chertsey with the name Thomas Ives.

There were 3 Thomas Ives burials recorded in Chertsey
1831 born 1766
1835 born 1795
1841 born 1809

The following newspaper reports are listed on find my past.

Morning Post: Thursday 25 May 1815
Between Weybridge & Chertsey, beautifully situated house called Wooburn Hill.
Mr. Thomas Ives, Surgeon, Chertsey, Surrey. Advertised his house to be let for the season or a year.

Morning Chronicle: Thursday 13 November 1828
4 Nov 1828 at Wandsworth, Elizabeth wife of Thomas Ives, Esq. of Chertsey, Surrey

Perry’s Bankrupt Gazette :Saturday 10 October 1829
DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIPS.
It refers to a Thomas ? & Thomas Ives, surgeons of Cobham, but unable to read full text?

London Standard:
Monday 28 February 1831
25 Feb 1831 at his sons house in Somerset St, Portman-square, Thomas Ives, Esq. of Chertsey esq. aged 65."

Friday 04 August 1843

Aug 3 at St Marylebone Church, John Samuel Tanqueray esq of Hendon to Jane Fleetwood, eldest daughter of the late Thomas Ives, esq of Somerset St, Portman-square.

Morning Post: Tuesday 01 March 1853
Howell at Wandsworth, on the 26th inst, Harriet the wife of James Howell esq, and younger daughter of the late Thomas Ives, Esq., of Chertsey, Surrey, aged fifty-eight.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your help.... and it really has helped... managed to find another daughter, Elizabeth, and found the three girls with their mother in the 51 census (father having died in 1835) with lots more leads that I'm now looking in to..  I downloaded Thomas's will - it was his father's (also a Thomas)  but enabled me to find siblings of the thomas I'm looking for which led to more info so really helpful!  THANKS!!
