Ancestry has indexes up to 2005 for marriages in England and Wales. I often find that its search engine is more flexible than FreeBMD and is worth a whirl, even for years indexed by FreeBMD (and many people born 1945 won't yet have their marriages in FreeBMD anyway - 1960 is nearly complete, some of the 1960s are underway, nothing yet in the 1970s).
