Wow!! Thank you so much, Sandra. You HAVE been working hard for me. It all sounds so positive until your last post. My James was married 05/03/1912 to Agnes Anderson McBride in West Derby, L'pool. She was a spinster aged 38. I cannot find her or James on 1911 English census. On 1901 English census Agnes is with her family in L'pool and it says she was born in L'pool. I cannot find James on 1911 census, which would tie in with him already being in Canada.
I do think I have the correct marriage certificate because of:- 1) James' age, 2) his address 3) Father's name and occupation 4) witness is his youngest brother 5) Agnes' witness is her cousin who was living with her family on 1901 census.
The address given on 1926 shipping record is the same as the Cooper family home.

I suppose I should try for Jean's birth certificate. Would that give mother's maiden name like the English ones?...and an address?....that could tie in with what you have found for me??
Did you use Ancestry to find border crossings? I got the shipping records from Find My Past, but I know Ancestry has some now too.
You've given me heaps of info' ...thanks sooo much.

Hi,

Yes, I see 2 Agnes's married in March 1912 - yours was the other one.
There is a 100 year rule on births in Canada so Jean's birth should be coming up on records shortly I presume. The birth certificate should give the information you want.

Regards
Sandra
