Family doesn't appear after 1851 Census *COMPLETED*
« on: Monday 25 February 13 08:31 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I have been getting a few leap frogs with finding family on the Census.

But the one below I can not find them after the 1851 census.   Either they moved or the Head of the family died and wife remarried.

John Adam, born 1824 in Kirkintilloch, Dunbarton .... Baker ...... Glasgow, St John's, (fits in with other family members)

Elizabeth Adam, born about 1821, Glasgow ...... wife

Isabella Adam, born abt 1848 Glasgow ... daughter

Jessie Adam, born abt 1848 Glasgow ..... daughter

Thomas Adam, born abt 1851 Glasgow .... son 3 months

1841 census he was single and I have that information.  My credits have expired so I can't check the SP site.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi KHP

 ;D

I don't see any of them after 1851 so far  :(

Do you have a mother's maiden name for John?

(added - it's not Horn by any chance!)

Yes, it is Horn.  ;D  What made me think he was deceased, was this comment by his name on his father's 1855 Statutory Death .... and of course the informant was David, who did the other one.

No that just records child no 8  to Thomas and Janet - it reads

1 John - 30                8 Thomas dec at  1
2 Elizabeth 29
3 Margaret 27
4 Marion 25
5 Mary 22
6 David 19
7 Janet 14

( shown on the link you sent  - #847

http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/LANARK/2002-10/1035775910  )

So John looks as if he was alive in June 1855. None of the others appear so far, either.  :-\
