If you are researching Britton ancestors, I hope you will consider joining the Britton DNA Project at Family Tree/World Families.

http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/britton/

We have identified the Y-DNA signatures of 28 different Britton families, some of which can be traced back to England in the 16th century, 17th, and 18th centuries.

Brittain, Britten, and all forms of the name are included.

Please send me an e-mail from the project if you have questions.

Lindsey Britton
Administrator of the Britton Project
Looking for the ancestors of John Britton bc 1672/3, probably in England, but living in Henrico Co., VA by 1684--The family has a rare Y-DNA signature and belongs to subgroup AS7E of Haplogroup I1--We are Family Group 1 in the Britton Project
