Liverpool Streets
« on: Wednesday 27 February 13 10:40 GMT (UK) »
Hi all.
Can anyone help with Vauxhall Road and Porter Street, I would like to know if they have been redeveloped  or changed in any way since the late 1800's. My G grandparents were born and lived there and I was hoping I might be able to get a photograph.? Belfast beau.

The area is covered by Streetview so you can 'walk' about there  :)

Start here for Vauxhall Road.

The middle section of Vauxhall Road is now part of Eldonian Village ...all new houses on the Liverpool - Leeds canal ...
I worked in Freemasons Row off Vauxhall Road in the 1960`s ...huge difference now ....

Hi Aghadowey,Blue70 and garstonite.
Thanks for your input, there's so much change its like another planet. I took a walk with the aid of streetview and all that was left was commercial properties and building sites. I can stroke photographs of the houses off my wish list. Many thanks search completed. Belfast beau.

Liverpool Record Office has a large collection opf photographs of many different streets. When they reopen it'd be worth contacting them or visiting them to see if they have photos of the streets you are interested in. A couple of years ago I was able to get photos of a number of streets my ancestors lived in that are (the streets) no more!
