during a public meeting on sackville st (o'connell st dublin) in august 1913, the police baton charged the crowd, two men lost their lives, james nolan and john byrne.
would anyone have knowledge of james nolans address at the time prior to his death?
i believe he was buried in glasnevin and his funeral was attended by a large crowd.

from a search of the Glasnevin records (assuming he's the 33 year old James...) I can tell you his address has the following letters :

  a,b,d,e,g,i,l,n,p,r,s,t,u

the word street appears in his address, also the word garden

'8, spring garden street' matches - see this link (Glasnevin website)

there's a Nolan household at part of the address on the 1911 census, but no James

see : Spring Garden St.

(there's a U and a B left on the list of letters - they are used in the word Dublin somewhere in the address)

Article about James Nolan stating his funeral “not again to be interrupted until the gates of Glasnevin Cemetery were reached” which implies that this is his burial place

They had five children and at the time of his funeral were living at 8, Spring Garden Street according to the report of the funeral in the newspapers of the time

Hi All,
Have only seen this tread now but here's a photo of James Nolan's grave stone in Glasnevin. I came across this several years ago as it's close to the grave of a relative of mine and I found the inscription interesting.
Cheers
