HALES/PRICE
« on: Wednesday 27 February 13 13:55 GMT (UK) »
I have a problem finding some people on census and wondered if anyone could help. Its a bit of a complicated family but;-
i have Caroline Nash born 1822 in south mimms. She married Robert Hales in 1838 in Holborn. Had Robert born 1839 st sepulchre
Philip born 1841 st sepulchre
William Henry 1843 st sepulcre
Frederick William 1845 St Sepulcre
( have all baptisms)
caroline louise 1847 same place. - died 1848.
Then Robert dies 1848 buried holborn 1848.
Then there is another child Emma Louise Hales born i think 1850 dec holborn (no bapt found)
Caroline then married mark antony price in 1856.
My problem is that i can find caroline on 1851 as widow with her children minus emma louise- and then on 1861 with mark antony with emma louise age 10. BUT i cannot find her boys on the 1861 census or mark and his parents on 1841. Mark is at home with his widowed mother on 1851 census in holborn. Mark was born 1825, Any help apprechiated Thank you

Still looking.......  ???

It's possible that Mark Anthony Price born 1824 is not living at home with his parents in 1841.

Is this a possibility for one of Caroline's sons on the 1861 census

William H Hales
born 1844 London
Rank B 1 C Royal Navy
1861c Piece:4439 Folio: 29 Page Number: 33

You mention that their father Robert Hales died 1848 Holbron - Is it possible that's another
Robert Hales the only reason I ask is Robert occupation was a butcher and there's this entry

Robert Hales Birth Year: abt 1814 London Age: 60
Arrival Year: 1849 Vessel Arrived In: Johnstone
Date of Admission/Photo:1874 Gaol: Goulburn
Gaol Location:   Goulburn, New South Wales

No 1868 Robert Hales occ Butcher
5ft 7 medium build Brown Hair & Grey Eyes read & write, remarks nose straight and with formes?. Mouth & Chin medium. Anchor on right arm paralysed in limbs whisker and Hair ?ing grey.

Do you know if any of the boys married?

Will keep searching....

Hi

I was going to post the same info for William H Hales, I haven't found the other boys.

Emma Louisa Price/Hales?. Could she have been the daughter of Mark Anthony Price, I noticed on the 1851 (living with his mother) there is also an Emma Price 25 and Sophie 2, could Emma be his wife?.

Also my reason for this is if Robert Hales died in 1848, then Emma would not be his daughter.
