Help with place name in Scotland
« on: Friday 01 March 13 21:10 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help with these place names?

I think the first one is: A Native of  Ardnamurchan (parish) Argyllshire, Scotland. Daughter of Anne Henderson of  ....?  ?

The next two are the same place - I think they are: Kilchrenan (parish), Argyllshire, Scotland

Thank you,  Mike & Carol for your reply, yes Kilchoan, Argyllshire, Scotland seems to fit.

Do you know or have any idea what the place name (on Anne's arrival record in Australia) is for her mother Anne Henderson. The first image I uploaded ?

I've cleaned it up a little. Could the place start with Dun-?  Maybe Dunblane?

The d in daughter is a lower case d though. The other one might well be a capital D.

Would the OP  have some dates and more names so that we might work it out through available Scottish records?

Hi lonedog,

Do you have a rough idea of the date Anne Henderson (mother or daughter) was born?
Checking the census records may help establish a place name.
1841 census for instance has several Anne Hendersons in West Ardnmurchan.

Regards,
Looby
