"Desmond" Sandy-mount Ave Dublin in 1932?

An elderly relative died in 1932  in "Desmond", Sandymount Terrace Dublin.
I would like to find out whether this was a private house or a hospital.
How would I start?

Thanks for this info. My relative was a friend of Dr MacCarthy, as she travelled to Argentina with him and his wife in 1929 at the ripe old age of 82!!

 Well thats interesting. Hubby died in 1934, and  I thought that she pre-deceased him.
