1841 and 1851 census lookup please
« on: Tuesday 05 March 13 04:15 GMT (UK) »
Hi guys

I was wondering if someone who currently has access to the UK 1841 and 1851 census could possibly look up a relative for me
I am looking for Caroline Ball born around 1836 in Dorsetshire
She married William Goddard in 1856 in Blandford, Dorsetshire and the next month sailed to Australia

I have nothing on her or her husband before then

I was hoping for a copy of her and family in 1841 and 1851 census
William was born in 1836 also in Dorsetshire, so maybe him and family in 1841 and 1851 census

Any information on either of them before there marriage would be greatly appreciated

regards Glen

Keyboard86, thankyou that is exactly what I was hoping for, both the census information and the christening. I had some of the information, however I had only copied it from a tree on line, I know have the actual source, thankyou

I have managed to find John Ball and his wife Frances's death index's
I have also found Henry Ball and his wife Susan's death index
These were from UK FreeBMD

How would I go about going back a bit further like finding the wife's maiden name in the case of Frances, Susan, Mary and Ann?

Thank you so very much for your help

I am not sure how to remove the copy of this thread on the other forum, I have locked it, which may be the way

Thankyou

You shouldn't lock your own threads! Just apologise to those looking and i future if you have more than one just put it up on your post, no need to duplicate your posts anyway.

Frances was :Frances Kezia COX and she married John Ball at a place called Wimborne Dorset in the April to June Quarter of 1839. Dunno what happened to him?

Thanks Neil

John Ball died - UK BDM - Jun 1839 Ball  John    Blandford  8 13
Frances Ball died - UK BDM - Dec 1848 Ball  Frances    Blandford  8 19

Do you know anything about Johns mum Susan or the Goddard women?

I will attempt to unlock the other post, I am a member of a number of forums and I find this one hard to navigate, well at this stage anyway
I posted it originally on I don't know what thread and then discovered the Dorset lookup thread so posted it there

Hi slightly confused? This is the "Frances" aged 25 in 1841

Baptism Fanny Ball 19th May 1816 Stourpaine Daughter of Henry and Susannah occupation for Henry is shown as Labourer, so Caroline was the illegitimate daughter of Frances/Fanny?

Hi Neil and Keyboard86

I am thinking keyboard86 is probably correct, Caroline is the illegitimate daughter of Henry and Susan's daughter Frances.
I thinking Neil that maybe the John Ball you have marrying Kezia is not our man, where did the name John Ball come from in the first place?

I am waiting on a copy of Caroline's death certificate, the index lists the father as "KIMBER"

I wonder what is Susan's maiden name is?
