Hi again, and just to show that Fanny/Frances used both forenames:-

Marriage Fanny Ball to Elias Russel Dec qtr 1848 Blandford v8 page 49

1851 Census

Elias Russel 31 occ Ag Lab b Stock, Dorset
Frances 35 b Stourpaine
Residing at Lane, Stourpaine, Blandford, Dorset
Census Ref HO107/1853/396/21

They both disappear from the census returns after 1851?

Hi again, I see on your other thread that a Simon Upward was a witness to the marriage of Caroline and William, the IGI suggest their was a marriage in 1835 Stourpaine of a George Goddard to a Mary Upward
Glen it is also extremely awkward having to click on the link provided by Judith, to see if there are any additions to the one on the Australian board!

I wonder if Fanny and Elias Russel also made the journey with William and Caroline?

Quite a contingent from Stourpaine/Durweston on board the Persia, arr June 1856 into Sydney NSW, from Dorset.

I stress that these look-ups are fairly cursory and would require more research to verify them; it was interesting, though to see how many there were.  Looking at the 1851 census there were some living in the same street even.

Hi again, I will answer all related items for the Ball and Goddard families on this Dorset thread, and leave the Australian lookups to the other thread ok

Just to confirm, this is the same christening I located from Family Search of Caroline in 1836, but this is from the Dorset Family History Society:-

Caroline Ball 27th March 1836 Stourpaine Bastard daughter of Fanny

Also note, Elias and Fanny Russel are next door but one from Caroline with her Grandparents Henry and Susan on HO107/1853/396/21?
