Seeking help to try to locate Arthur Mackinley.

I believe that he was born in Paisley Renfrewshire, but cannot verify this information.
I do not know when, where, or to whom he was married. This information came via a family tree given to me some time ago, but was not verifiable, as there were no details.

What I do know is that he had a daughter Jane Smith Mackinley, born about 1820.

I do know that she was married 11 Feb 1842 to Daniel Macarthur in Gorbals Lanarkshire, and that the rest of her life was in Glasgow.

I have checked Family Search, but I cannot find any information about Arthur. I have checked Google, where there are plenty of Arthur Mackinley’s, but not the one I am looking for.

Any assistance will be very gratefully received, as I have tried all I know to find him.

The death record for Jane, if after 1855, would show both her parents names.
With that additional information, you might be able to find out more about Arthur.
Have you any info re Arthur's death? His death record, again if after 1855, would show wifes name and his parents names.
Have you found any census records for either Arthur or Jane?
Have you tried searching Scotland's People for them?

As I mentioned before, this record, which you can view online on SP should give BOTH her parents names, giving more info to allow you to search for Arthur on census records and also his marriage.

PS - note spelling of McKinlay / MacKinlay.  When searching for Arthur, use Wildcards, ie, M*ckinl*y which will show results for McKinlay, MacKinlay, McKinley, MacKinley.

Thank you very much for your prompt replies.

I have not been able to locate the death information regarding Arthur, Jane, or her husband Daniel.

I have not, at this time, got access to Scotlands people, so will see about what is required to get access. It looks like it will be of use as I have several Scots in the family to follow up.

There was an Arthur Forbes McKinlay born in Stirling in 1799 which could be about the right date.
That's the only birth I can see in Scotland that looks about right.
