Help with deciphering crime please

Can anyone read the word in the middle, is it "murder"?

She received 2 years hard labour, which seems a rather light sentence though for murder...

Betsey Christopher,  sentenced on 14 February 1845 in the Dorset county jail.  Servant in the parish of Lower Lychett.

Oh my word, she was charged with the "wilful murder of her new born child"  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Wish I'd never found this now.  :(

There's another girl listed right beneath her charged with the same thing, she received one year hard labour.

Oh Caz she must have been so scared and desperate...how would she support it...I bet she concealed the pregnancy out of fear and went through it all on her own  :'(
