AVC - W. C. Frecknall

I have a medal rolls index card for a W. C. Frecknall who served in the Army Veterinary Corps, regimental number SE/2803 or 7803 (can't tell which).

Under the W. of his name, 'Williams' was written in. However, I can't find any Frecknall with that name or initials.

I am trying to identify who this is. I can't find any service records. Does anyone have any ideas how I might find more information about him?

I'm afraid not - if I knew where he was from I'd know who he was. I've traced all Frecknalls in the UK as part of my ONS, but there is no-one with those initials. There were two Charles William Frecknalls, but I can rule out one completely and don't think the other seems likely as he was in his mid-40s.

Hi Ady,

I hadn't though of him. I know he went by Claud, and he married in 1920 after the war.

It's a good idea, I'll have to look into it. I'm not sure how we could show either way if it was him. :-\

Doran54, I'm assuming he was English.
