Carrie Lycett- time in Jersey?
« on: Saturday 09 March 13 14:07 GMT (UK) »
Carrie Lycett gave birth to Norah Adams Nov 3rd 1884 reg St Helier. Father William Adams. No record anywhere of a marriage for these folk. There was only one Carrie Lycett found on the 1881 census - she was a barmaid at the Talbot Inn, Claines, Worcs. Presuming this is our Carrie I found her in 1861, 1871, 1891 and 1901, as Caroline Lycett, with her parents (mother only in 1901) in Staffs/Worcs. She marries in Kidderminster reg 1902 and doesn't have any more children (that I can find!) In 1911 her widowed mother, Ann, is with Carrie and her husband, Charles Hickin, in Pensax, Worcs. Is there any way of finding when, where and why she was in Jersey for the birth of Norah? Would there be a record anywhere of her leaving with Norah before 1891 as on the 1891 census Norah is with the Skinner ladies in Cheltenham.....where she stays until her marriage in 1914. Thanks to folk who have tackled Lycett/Adams hunt previously. Still got the brick wall!  ::)Cheers all, Pauline.
