Northern Cyprus/ TRNC
« on: Sunday 10 March 13 23:37 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I've been trying to research my ancestors in the Nufus (Population) Register books from the Ottoman period in Cyprus. I am aware of which volumes still exist in the Milli Arsiv (National Archives and Research Centre) In Keryneia (Girne), but am not in Cyprus at the moment.

I have the name of the village records that I am after, their page number and the relevant book number from the Milli Arsiv, and require a scanned copy to use for my genealogical research purposes. I would like to know if anyone is based in Girne/Keryneia and who would like to obtain these scanned copies on my behalf, I will pay for your time and the copies.

Kindest Regards,

Anthony

Hi Anthony,

If you're still looking since last March, you need a Turkish-speaker resident in the North.  You could try posting in one of the online TRNC forums, or advertising in one of their local newspapers.
