I can see 3 of them together in Poplar 1891 under Chader.

Edward 39 (looks more like 57?)
Louisa 45
Annie 22 - could be 20

There's a death for Louisa age 45 Jun 1891 Poplar
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

I know this isn't finding Annie Verdon sorry! but could Edward have married again in Poplar 1899?
Have you got his death certificate with an informant?

There is a widower Edward marrying Sarah Ann Wilkinson.  She is 57 he is 65 father Thomas blacksmith which rings a bell from a previous certificate.

Sorry that could be a different Edward.  There is another marriage in 1882 with father Thomas blacksmith and that was to a different Louisa so the death for Louisa could equally be hers.

Yikes will stop meddling now and go put the kettle on  ;D

Hi all, thank you for all of the replies.

I haven't been able to find them in 1871 but found the girls in 1881.

Louise died and yes Edward did remarry to Sarah Wilkenson and is down as widower.
However on his marriage to Louise he is down as bachelor which is why I don't think he ever married Annie/Anne.

Im not sure about 1871 now but will have a look on my ancestry tree.
I thought I found it from somewhere, will look at my notes!

Are you positive the Edward remarrying is your Edward or the Edward who married the other Louisa?

I ask because two of the marriages (1882 Louisa Taylor and 1899 Sarah Ann Wilkinson) have Edward making his mark X and father Thomas a blacksmith whereas the other Edward marriage (1888 Louisa Comber) has him signing his name and father Thomas deceased.

Are they two different husbands  :-\  The Thomas in Fenny Compton in 1841 was a blacksmith.

Clearly Louisa Comber is correct as she is with the girls in 1881.

Yes she did, but he was originally James Adam Bultitude. (Another complicated story but fortunately a family bible cleared that one up for me). These are my great great grandparents.

Edward definitely remarried after Louise died but this was the only marriage that matched what my aunt said.  I haven't yet looked at this one much but have it as a suggestion to look at later note in my notes in my tree.

I've just looked at my tree and I can't find any of them in 1871, sorry I was thinking of 1881 I think.  Annie Verdon was french so I am wondering if there might be anything in french records, travelling etc?

Edward is living with his sister in 1861, who was also called Emma who is married to Thomas Rogers, in Bromley, Middlesex, England.
