McLeods from Skye to Stirlingshire
« on: Thursday 14 March 13 18:37 GMT (UK) »
There is a family rumour that one of our Mcleod ancestors, who was a bit of a moonshiner (or whatever you call them in Scotland), moved either to or from Stirlingshire.  He would have been connected to Francis Mcleod from Derry and William Mcleod and his wife Roseanna Jackson.  The latter couple married in 1854 and had sons Francis, William, James, John, Daniel and James, as well as a bunch of girls.  Can anyone shed any light on this rumour, which I have been unable to substantiate?

Thanks.

1861 census has William and Rosanne and family living in Kilmadock, Perthshire

1871 has them living in Denny, Stirlingshire
