Hi

The marriage doesn't appear in the Anglican registers that are online, suggesting they were of another religious persuasion or they married at the register office. You'll need to buy the cert from the GRO at Southport to get the details or find a notice in a local newspaper.

Why don't you think Davey was her maiden name?

Hi Thank you for your reply- her maiden name was Bliss she was born in 1869 in richmond married albert davey in 1888 in richmond then he died in 1910 and as she had 14 children ended up in the workhouse for a very short while then all the younger children were farmed out to foster homes and childrens homes . They then lost track of her- noone knows what happened to her- all the children are now dead and noone knows what happened to Margaret. There is family gossip that she married twice more- which is where im trying to go to- this would have been the first of the marriages if it is her- the second would have been to arthur bale in 1932 in kingston in surrey then a margaret bale died in 1946 surrey but have to prove the first marriage is her first. Thank you

Seems she had 17 children 14 living, she had three by the time she was twenty according to the census. On-line trees give her death as 1951 Sheffield.

Plenty of trees on-line.

Hi Yes been all through that- its a family gossip- seems no truth in it-my mother was one of those 14 children and none of the remaining relatives seem to know who put that on the tree or why and noone has any proof on the trees- they are all family members but cant say where it came from. Im working on the assumtion that it is wrong as nothing to back it up. Thanks

Why not order the certificate and see what she said?
