Rosina's parents look likely to be James and Elizabeth Schafer, both born in Taunton c1802-5.

They are in Bristol by 1841: HO107/373 bk 2 folio 40 p10.

They then move to Abergavenny...

1851 (Wales): HO107/2446/272/23

...and then to Swansea:

1861 (Wales): RG9/4105/103/32.

Possible death for James Schafer, Mar qtr 1863 Bristol.

Thanks everyone for so much useful information. Much appreciated.

The ref. to 63 years married appears on the 1911 census (Class: RG14; Piece: 15032; Schedule Number: 118.) - Rosena Berry, mother-in-law, 85, widow, years married: 63 (entry has been crossed through), OAP.  (On 'Ancestry' she is missing from the listing of household members.) She is living with her daughter Emily (Berry) and Walter Cox at 6 William Street, St Philips, Bristol (my wife's great grandparents).
