Hello.

The incoming passenger record (see link) indicates Susan is a Widow travelling to Montreal to be married. Can't quite make out the last name of her intended .... first name Geo (assume George). Susan and Norman are just above the last name on the list. I have hunted through the records using every possible spelling of the last name I could think of but have had no luck finding a marriage. Perhaps someone with sharper eyes can make out the name?

From Library and Archives Canada ...

If they stayed in Canada and Norman retained his last name, you may be able to find him in the 1921 Canada census which is due to be released later this year.

Thanks for the reply PB

Susan Fletcher (nee Edwards) married Percy White Fletcher in 1901, the same year they had a son in Norman Harold Fletcher.....
In 1911 Lancashire, Percy is living with his parents but it does state he has been married 10 years and has a child......
In 1911 Leicestershire Susan and son Norman are living with her mum Julia, in both cases they state they are married but they also look like they are living with and not visiting there parents....

1932
Julia Edwards the mum of Susan dies in Leicester aged 93

1913
The outgoing Victorian passenger list states Susan Fletcher is a wife! and her destination is Quebec although the ship does go to Montreal as well as Quebec

1917
Percy White Fletcher marries again in 1917 Chorlton R.D, Lancs to Ethel Saville

Given that information you might find this interesting! hence my interest in what happened to Susan and Norman Harold Fletcher

I see what you mean by the incoming passenger list....not easy to read to say the least

If you are lucky, they took advantage of the land grants out west in Canada.  Have you searched records for the 1916 census of Canada (Prairie Provinces)?  They are often forgotten and run 5 year opposites to the regular Census of Canada. ie.. 1901, 1906, 1911, 1916, 1921/22 etc...

Archives Canada has free lookups.
