looking for the names of Bill Reeves father and mother or any information at all, Bill was born in 1903 in nottinghamshire he was married to Dolly? (Dorothy?) they had a child called Peggy born 1930  d  2009 she was married to Frank Anthony Foss Thanks TD

Was he born as Bill or as William?  Did he just have the one christian name

Freebmd has no birth in Nottingham for a William Reeves in 1903 unless he was born in the December of 1903 and his birth wasn't registered until after Christmas

He was James W Reeves and he married Dorothy Jackson March qtr 1919 which would make him barely 16yrs old if he was only born in 1903

I think this birth is a bit nearer the mark

I have found him on the 1901 aged 7mths with mother Sophia Reeves 21 b New Cross London who is living with her parents surname Atherall

Currently looking for a marriage

Mmmm - a May Atherall married in Nottingham in 1899 and there is an Arthur Reeve (no S) on the same page

I've followed the Atherall family back to 1881 and daughter is Sophia - never May.

Her father is shown as James in 1901 and 1891 but married as Isaac to Sophia Chatfield in 1873 Tunbridge Kent

Sophia Reeves married John Henry Abell in 1910 in Notts as per freebmd

But- there is this birth in 1904 which must be connected in view of the name Sophia

I think you need a copy of the 1900 birth cert to see who his father was as there is no obvious marriage for Sophia prior to 1910
