A gravestone in Corris church
« on: Saturday 23 March 13 19:56 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone have any MIs for Corris church? I'm looking for the headstone for Mary Williams of Bristol House, Dolgellau, who was buried there on 25th November 1905. She died on 22nd November 1905 and was previously of Braich Goch Hotel, Corris.  I'm wondering if her husband David Williams (died between 1861 and 1871) is with her. Thankyou

As far as I can see from the Gwynedd FHS website the MI's for Holy Trinity Corris have not yet been published.

Hi Dolgellau
GFHS have MIs for, 'Tal y Llyn, Capel Rehoboth, Corris, M116' and 'Tal y Llyn, St Mair, M110'. It would appear that Corris is in the Parish of Tal y Llyn. You mention Holy Trinity, Corris; do you know whether or not  St Mair and Holy Trinity ar same church ?

Corris is in the parish of Talyllyn but is some distance away from St Mary's the Traditional parish church for the area. Holy Trinity is a separate and much newer establishment which is in the village of Corris itself

Hi
Dolgellau Branch of Gwynedd Archives have Parish Records for the church in Corris on film. Records start late 1861.
Fifth entry on the Burials register:
David Williams,  Braichgoch Inn,  27th June 1862,  age 62.
Entry 426:
Mary Williams,  Bristol House Dolgelley,  25th November 1905,  age 72.
