Look up for a Burial at The wallasey library
« on: Sunday 24 March 13 14:18 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
Is anyone able to look up a burial place on the Wirral please?
Jane Ellen Davies death was registered in Sept quarter 1923. in Wallasey sub District. Someone suggested she may be buried in Rake lane Cemetery. I think they would most likely have been Church of England. Is anyone able to find this info at Wallasy or Birkenhead Library? Thank you for any help.

Hi Jan,
The original Parish Registers for St Hilary, Wallasey are held at Cheshire Record Office.
Microfilm copies are held at Wirral Archives.

Thank you for replying Victor. Do you think those records will tell me the burial place/cemetery where Jane Ellen was buried?  Thanks  Jan.

Hi Jan,
All I can say is that wherever the burial took place, the answer probably lies at the 2 leads I gave you.
Good hunting!

Hi Jan

As I suggested on your other topic a strong possibility is Wallasey Cemetery known locally as Rake Lane Cemetery. The films were definately at Wallasey Library a few years ago when I looked but may well be at other libraries as well. Wallasy Cemetery is a large municipal cemetery and I have many relatives buried there.

St Hilary burials have been transcribed by Familysearch.org and she doesn't appear to be there.

Andy
