Possible witness names
« on: Monday 25 March 13 19:36 GMT (UK) »
A marriage in St Louis Missouri for Reuben Smart and Robina Hambleton.
I can read most of it but the bottom 2 lines would seem to show what appear to be names of witnesses? This is where i came unstuck!

Can anyone have a look for me please and see what they can read? poli  :)

Hi Polidor,
Could it be Philip McKin  -----  on the penultimate line?

The name on the bottom line looks to me like A.C. Berrandy --------

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Winslass.

The last line says something very like "Filed and recorded Jan 25 1865 at 6 Barrowby xxxxxxx"

The witness names start on the 5th line - Thomas Gotham?

The left hand edge of the document has been missed from the scan. The second witness could be something like Hilda Pases. There's a strange gap after this name, too.

I think the second witness is Matilda (name split between the two lines) and maybe Pasco?
Bottom line Filed and Recorded Jan 28 1865 AC Berrandy?, Recorder.

I would agree with all those.

My thanks to Winslass--Mike --jusnoneed for responding to my post.

The names suggested don't, unfortunately help to verify that the marriage is of the REUBEN i am 'chasing'. I will make a note of them because you never know!!  poli  :)
