Annie Highland

I am seeking information on Annie Highland who married William George Parkes in Ross, in 1870, and died shortly after childbirth in 1872. Did she have brothers or sisters ? Did her parents live in New Zealand ? Where did she come from ? When did she arrive in New Zealand? Annie was my wife`s great grandmother.

1870/7095 Annie  Highland to William  Parks 

Her death
1872/9806 Parks  Ann  aged 19Y

It appear William George was the child

1872/21397 Parks  William George to Annie and William

There is an Anne Parks 1872 location Ross.   

I am having trouble at the moment getting the cemetery link up.

There doesn't appear to be an Ann Parks/Parkes buried in Ross or any of the other Westland Councils cemeteries

I can only go by what is on the Burial Locator.  The information was taken from the Death Registration and location said Ross.

Sorry Bruce, seems I am wrong.

I am not saying you are wrong,just that she is not showing on the database,the only Park showing is a Robert Park and I don't see a death for him on BDM's so maybe the database has errors,

A possible sister for Annie-

An Elizabeth Highland married Samuel Scanlon in 1871.

The only other Highland marriage in the NZ BDM historical index is a Mary Highland who married John Alexander Mooney much later in 1896.

A further look through the NZ BDM index would indicate that the parents of Annie did not die in New Zealand, therefore may not have come to this country?

HIGHLAND appears to be a rare name in New Zealand.
