a couple of names in a 1698 will please
« on: Friday 29 March 13 00:03 GMT (UK) »
A couple of names stumping me here.
What is his father's name? Impri? And I think his wife is Easte (though more like Ee. at the start).

In the second clipping, he gives two shillings to '.............? Rogers and grace Rogers the daughters of
empri (?) Rogers my father' - these would be his sisters wouldn't they? Maybe step sisters.

Thanks Rootschatters  ;)

The father's name does look like Impri and ompri. I've been saying it over and over out loud, and perhaps it is a spelling of Humphrey?

Eeste might be a spelling of Easter, Hester, Esther, etc.

The sisters were Verity and Grace.

I agree with Alexander, on all counts. In the first extract I believe it's written Ompri (capital O).

You are right, it is written Ompri not Impri - I should have realized that.

Not Verity but Dority (Dorothy).  The first letter is a D and the second an O
