There's a Minnie about the right age ib the St Albans' workhouse in 1891 - I do doubt Alfred's existance

I think she is the one born St Albans who is living with the Deacon family in 1881

Not her. Both girls are with Susan Lewis b. 1832 Little Hadham. She has 2 sons with her David and Joseph and they are all at Burford Street, Broxbourne, Hertfordshire in 1881.
I somehow doubt that Susan is the grandma.She was born 1832 Little Hadham and her son David was born 1847. Joseph 1850. Nothing is adding up so I am now going to give up for today and start tomorrow tracing back David, Joseph and Susan.

I think Susan's age on the 1881 census is wrong and that in 1881 David should be Daniel.
