Amelia Hais Lindahl
« on: Sunday 31 March 13 00:53 GMT (UK) »
In the 1891 UK census Amelia Hais Lindahl is shown as being born on the Isle of Alderney in approximately 1842. Lindahl may be her married name as the census does not show a husband but shows Amelia as being "wife". She has a daughter Helda born c1871 and a son Harry born in Christiana, Norway in c1875

Given the small population of Alderney would it be possible to trace her birth and the details of her parents names.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi,
Do you have her in 1871? She appears to be resident in Rainhill with 5 children and a couple of relatives and servants, Does nt help with your original question but other childrens names might help the search.

In 1861 there is an Amelia Augusta Fegg born in 1842 in Alderney working as an assistant teacher  in a small school in Blackpool.  She may be worth investigating (The surname is as transcibed but it does appear to start with an F)

Yep, Altrincham :)
Marriage on www.familysearch.org
Anton Hvistendahl
Amelia Augusta Fagg
4 jan 1864
Ashton, Mersey, Cheshire
both aged 21 ( I think they mean of full age)
Also if you search for Anton Hvistendahl born 1872 you will find the family on the 1875 Norwegian census.

Cathy
added  there is also an alternative entry on familysearch giving the marriage date as 12 Jan at St Martins, parents Thomas Fagg and Hans Hvistendahl
Sinnock/Sinnicks...Brighton,Greenwich.

Thanks everyone -  I have now found him in the USA -  long after my Harry Lindale had been here in New Zealand , so sadly for me, he is not the man I am looking for. So I will just have to keep on looking.

Cheers from Hamilton New Zealand
