loose translation or meaning for defuncte is dead so I think Edna was deceased at the time of the confirmations of the older children.

Valerie, good work. I can't believe how many names the mother was recorded under (Eugenie, Edith, Edna, Edma). Yikes.

There is a birth registration for Victoria Marie Edma Landry who was born 14 Apr 1903 to Joseph Landry and Edma Richard (yes in both cases the registration says Edma) in Russell County.

There is a death for Edna Richard on 14 Apr 1903 in Cambridge, Russell County. It indicates she was 36, married, a farmer's wife and born in St. Albert. It also indicates she died from heart disease so maybe she had a heart attack /during after going through child birth.

Jacquie
Canada: Patterson, Brown, Haidenger/Heidinger, Meyer, Johnston(e), Gorsuch, Kitchin/Kitchen

Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife, East Lothian): Johnston(e), Bell, Galloway, Campbell, Robertson, Williamson, Thomson, Crawford
Germans from Russia: Haidenger/Heidinger, Meyer, Meach, Lorenz

you can check the 1881 and 1891 census info at this site and also look at the original documents through pdf or jpeg. You can access the 1871 census through the microform digitization and then go to browse titles. When you get to the 1871 census click on help and scroll down to almost the bottom where you can click on Census of 1871. There you can check by surname and province.

1891/Ontario/Russell/115/Cambridge

household 250
page 60
Landery, Venance age 53
page 61
Landry, Alphonsine, age 46
Venance, age 19
Rose Anna, age 17
Victoria, age 15
Napoleon, age 13
Ormidas, age 11
Albert, age 10
Matthias, age 8
Alphonse, age 6
Jules, age 6
Emile, age 3
Gibault, Rosalie, age 83

household 251
Landry, Aristade, age 25
Albina, age 22
Albertine, age 6 months
also
Landry, Ovilla, age 23

There is also Household 40 in Casselmon
Landry, Pierre age 32
Matille, age 29
Geogina, age 1

Household 250 is probably the parents of Joseph (grandparents of your Leo Albert), his siblings and maternal grandmother.
Household 251 is probably a brother of Joseph and his family.
Household 40 is more than likely some relation but you would have to go back farther to determine the relationship.

Some of the children of Venance and Alphonsine were born in Quebec so you may want to check the census there for 1871 and 1881.

Some information is available at family search and automated genealogy for the 1861 and 1852 census.
