There is also an Anglo-Italian Family History Society  -   http://www.anglo-italianfhs.org.uk

If it's as good as the Anglo-German FHS, it'll be well worth a try.

familysearch.org is good if they have digitized the records for the Italian town you are looking for.  Look for Europe, then Italy and then the town you are interested in.
