The only thing I'm not sure about is the number; whether it's 67 or 69.

Another thing I'm not sure about is why my post is registered a full minute later than Alex's when I reckon we hit the "post" button at the same time as each other. 8)

Hello -

Both Centre Street and Anne Street used to be streets in Glasgow, although both names had changed prior to the 1940s, Centre Street to Curle Street and Anne Street to Christian Street.

Address searches of the 1841, 1851 and 1861 censuses do not appear to contain any entries for either of the suggestions.

Hi, thanks for all your replies. It looks like Centre Street gets most votes. I'll keep note and see if I can find anything to confirm. Thanks.

Graeme

Thanks very much for that hanes teulu. I wasn't aware of that site or those documents.

And, just to extra confirm it (I should probably have done this before), after checking the marriage certificate of the parents of the person in my original post, James Seaton Florence - it seems his mother's residence at the time was Centre Street. It's not very good quality, but the '67' seems to confirm it.
