Can anyone help? Robert Caton Houston

I wonder if anyone can help me? My father was Robert Caton Houston. ( 1925) His father was

James G Houston who Married Blanche Humble. They lived in Newcastle or surounding area.
James G father was Andrew and the family would seem to have lived in Carlisle and were tailors.

My father spoke very little of his family and I never met them and now it would seem they died before I was born. He only spoke of his father who apprently died in a tram accident - although I cant find any record of this.... and the date of the death was 1947.  I found a probate record saying he lived in  Alwinton Terrace Gosforth. if anyone has any info I would be very interested, I know nothing of this family....

Hi Jaki,
Found on *A* a family tree;  James Gardner Houston b1886 Carlisle, Cumberland died 1947 married Blanche Humble in 1922 York - she born 1886 died 1967. 

His parents Andrew Houston b1845 d 1923 married Jane Wyllie 1849-1934 however no marriage date shown.

This is the only death that fits - I have checked the full GRO index and initial is S - not G.  However - there is no birth for a James S Houston around that time

On the 1871 Census Andrew born 1845 Ireland, Jane 1850 Scotland and their first born son a William W Houston b 1868 Scotland
