Hello -

Two things are puzzling me :
(1) Feibig is the name on the first document, and it is Fiebig on the second.
(2) Where does Pauten fit into this?

craggagh.

I hadn't actually notice the different spellings, craggagh, but they are definitely brothers.
And I was confused to where they got Pauten from, but a few days I made a post about this family and on the passenger list it said they lived in 'Pauten Prussia'

Hi blamcca,

I found a map for you. Above of Breslau, just a bit to the right you will see Trebnitz, click on it to enlarge and you will see Kniegnitz and all the places called Hammer. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I found Kniegnitz, the name hadn't changed much, nowadays it is Ksieginice.
However I am yet to find Hammer.  :-\

Here is another place: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trzebnica. The German version shows at the end the places belonging to Trebnitz, if you click for the English translation there will be no register for place names.
