« on: Friday 12 April 13 13:08 BST (UK) »
Hello list,

Can someone tell me more on this Uniform..William HARRISON b 1875, I have the family on 1911 census but William, his wife Mary b 1879 and son Harper b 8/10/1900 are not on the 1901 census.

Many thanks

Hi Yonks, although the style of uniform that is being worn was introduced from 1902 it is more associated with the first world war. There are no markings/ensignia to say which regiment he had joined as even the buttons are general service ones. However the belt is from the 1914 pattern so the image would date from that time onwards.

I forgot to add that the stamp box shown on the reverse was used by Crown Studios between 1913 and 1929.

OR,

What are your thoughts on how genuine this Uniform is? Do you think that this chap was in the Army?
