Greenwich street name help - what and where?
« on: Friday 12 April 13 23:19 BST (UK) »
This is probably a simple one, but I can't be sure of the street name, and can't find it on internet maps or searches. This is from a Will written in 1854 in Greenwich, England.

"This is the last Will and Testament of me Charles Robert Clement of _____________ place Greenwich Kent".

Is it "No 7 Coss Place"? Is there such an address in Greenwich?
Darby in Deal, Kent; Palmer in Gravesend, Shorne, Strood, Kent; Stewart & Duncan in Ayrshire; Powell in Limerick

It's Goss Place, I'll find it on an old map for you.

Wow, that was hard work. Here is an old map which shows where Goss Place was. It was off Greenwich Road.

You'll need your glasses to see it, so I've included a small excerpt below to make it easier find. If you click on the large image, you can view a much larger version and see that it is actually Goss Place. :)
