I thought I would retrace the New family from Albert born Murtoa Victoria in 1883 so there are no obvious mistakes. I have ordered the death certificates of both the Alberts where one of these is my Alberts father. One died at Camperdown and the other at Drummoyne. I should receive the records in the next few days.
Many thanks to all for your help.

Is your relative the  Albert Edward New who died in Murtoa in 1931 ?

http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/16830779?searchTerm=%22albert%20edward%20new%22&searchLimits=l-category=Family+Notices|||sortby=dateAsc

Per the NSW BDM index his parents were Albert E and Elizabeth.

He married Amelia Thompson in Drummoyne in 1912.

The funeral notices in SMH mention the same names as the 1919 and 1924 family notices - Rehardt, Brown, Jones, and Oliver New.

Shaun

This is my Albert Edward New. He was born in Murtoa in Victoria in 1883 and died at Lilyfield (as stated in the funeral notice). His death is registered at Petersham which is just a few kms. away.

All of the other details you posted are indeed correct.

Archie Oliver New's wife, Gladys, was buried along side her husband in the Field of Mars Cemetery. North Ryde. I remember it well as I attended her funeral in the early 1990's.

What I am trying to determine with a degree of certainty is who were the actual parents of Albert E. New, born about 1858 at Swindon, Berkshire, according to the birth certificate of Archie Oliver New b. 6 June, 1895 at Balmain North Sydney.

The parents were Aaron and Ann per the 1924 death registration. That seems fairly clear.

Not a very accurate birth certificate! ;D

There is NO Swindon in Berkshire.
The county boundary between Wiltshire and Berkshire is very close to Swindon, but Swindon has always been in Wiltshire. (I worked there!)
Highworth, where Albert's birth was registered, is just outside Swindon, but still in Wiltshire.
My grandfather ran the Saracen's Head there ;D

Thanks Shaun

I am aware that Swindon is in Wiltshire I was just quoting what was on the certificate.
I will let you know what the content of the two death certificates are as soon as they arrive, hopefully in the next day or two.
