Ros, Thank you so much for the time and effort you put in to compile this for me! :) I really enjoyed reading these stories and will use a few of the clues to further my search. I'm feeling more hopeful than I did a day ago!  Thanks again :)

I learn something new every day  (Mr Wiki knew something about Crown St before I did  :) )  ..... they got up and down Crown St on the tram  ;D ..... Ummmm ..... I guess I will be on the phone in the morning asking my rellies who moved out of Palmer St pre WWII (it became too Bohemian for their parents) about the trams on Crown St  :)

http://photosau.com.au/CosRates/scripts/home.asp  .... looks like Crown St was the boundary for part of its length during 1930s ....

But one of the wards out that part of the City was DENISON (I think)  ....

Fingers crossed that I am loading the correct live link.... it is different link from the one on the NSW Resources page at RChat ....  I have not previously used this newer link.

Cheers,  JM

A pleasure to help MurphyCousin and not much work at all  :)

I also tried looking for Quinn and Roscommon without any obvious success.  There is a lovely obit to John Quinn in 1944 who was born in Roscommon, Ireland but he was a farmer in the country all his life.  There was a marriage with both fathers being in Roscommon, ireland, but that was in 1874 and far too early for our man.

Well here they are - maybe you can spot something I missed.
