Robert Smith of Christchurch Hants and Alice Dando of Somerset

My great grandfather, Robert James Smith was born in Christchurch in 1868 and my great grandmother, Alice Dando was born in Clutton, Farmborough in 1874. In the 1891 census, she was working as a servant at Evans and Owen in Bath. There is no trace of Robert Smith, who was a carpenter, although with such a common name, I may have missed him if he wasn't in Christchurch, Bath or Wiltshire!
Robert and Alice, in the 1901 census, were living in Salisbury. Their eldest daughter, Alice Emily Smith, was born in 1895, (she was the first of but family tales report that she was sent to her father's relatives in Christchurch to live. I cannot find any marriage for this couple. Can anyone help?

I see they claim to have been married 19 years so around 1892.

Have you got any birth certificates for the children - all under Smith as per married parents?

There's a James Smith born 1868 Christchurch who is a boarder in 1891 Somerset with Tabor family.

This one is a carpenter.

Emily is safely with her parents in 1901 but later on she is crossed out.  However at 16 she could have been out on her own.

I wonder why she would have been sent elsewhere
